Are you a developer or webmaster interested in running Solr search and don't want to setup your own server install?

Our new service has gone beta: SolrHQ. SolrHQ is an expandable hosted Apache Solr solution, making Enterprise Search possible for everybody. This is a cloud based service that can be used for searching an online site or a private (enterprise level) network.  The service can handle anywhere from a few thousand documents/pages into the millions.  This is not an SEO service, it is the actual search system.

The system is now in beta and is open for use. There is sample code for developers now.  Create an account at http://www.solrhq.com --  and for a limited time, test accounts of up to 1000 documents are free. 

To enhance and test the service, we are looking for three types of interested developers:

1) Developers who are experienced using Solr or Lucene Solr.

2) Developers who are involved in sites that need a new or improved search. This is a backend service for developers to use, and by 'developer' we refer specifically to programmers.

3) Site designers for a CMS for which we have released a plugin, this is now only WordPress. What is really needed is larger WordPress sites in need of a powerful search componet.

4) We are also working on updating our Joomla! ESearch extension to work with the SolrHQ service, and are interested in developers working with search extensions for other blogging and CMS platforms. This will open the SolrHQ service to site developers using existing extensions.
